The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is the nation's leading non-profit coalition for advancing buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work. Major programs supporting its mission include the Council's Leadership in Energy andEnvironmental Design (LEED®) Green Building Rating System™; LEEDWorkshops; LEED Professional Accreditation; the Greenbuild InternationalConference & Expo; and a robust local chapter program.

Chapter Mission

We will strive to further the USGBC’s mission of promoting buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work by applying these principles to the Middle Tennessee area.

Our vision is to create awareness and educate building owners/developers, local and state government agencies, architects, engineers, contractors, and product manufacturers within the regional construction community. This will lead to greater involvement in the sustainable design movement, ideally resulting in an increased number of sustainable, high performance projects in the local built environment.
