Green Building Basics and LEED At TRANE-Nashville Training Center 601 Grassmere Park Drive Suite 10 Nashville, Tennessee 37211 - 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM

For those new to green building, this instructor-led course offers an introduction to USGBC, green building principles and the fundamentals of the LEED Rating System. It includes topics on climate change and building impacts; motivators for green building; and conventional versus integrative approaches – and the associated benefits – to building design, construction and operations. This is the first step in building your knowledge of USGBC, LEED and green building best practices and is a recommended prerequisite for any 200 or 300-level LEED education program.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: After completing this course, you will be able to: • Describe USGBC and the LEED Rating System • Consider the value of building green • Define specific examples of green building practices • Know where to go for additional resources and support
